Senses Residential and Day Care for Special Needs
United Arab Emirates

Description

60cm wide, 80 cm long, 2 cm deep, Acrylics on Canvas.

He chose to donate one of his pieces as he currently work in Inclusion at an international school in Abu Dhabi and therefore care deeply about supporting all learners on the autism spectrum. Originally from the county of Dorset in the south west of the UK which sits at the heart of what was once the stronghold of a Celtic tribe known as the Durotriges and later the Anglo-Saxon kingdom of Wessex and it is the interlace artwork of these two people that inspire his work.

The use of cruciform knotwork in the piece I’ve donated is a reference to the connection between illuminated manuscripts and interlace art throughout the migration period of European history.
