On 8 October, Female Fusion is hosting Wellness First: Real Talk on Women’s Health & Cancer in partnership with Majlis Al Amal by Al Jalila Foundation.
This is about real conversations: how we can prioritise our health and wellbeing, remove the fear around screenings, and know how to support ourselves, or a loved one, if a cancer diagnosis happens.
There is no charge to attend this event, but we are asking everyone attending, if possible, to make a minimum donation of AED 50.
Every dirham will go towards ensuring that another woman faced with this awful disease has the chance to receive treatment, focus on healing, and reclaim her life.
100% of the funds raised will go directly to “Be a Lifeline for Women with Cancer.”
I was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 2012, and again in May 2025. This year, I had a double mastectomy and just completed chemotherapy on 19 September.
Along the way, I’ve met so many women who didn’t have the same access to healthcare that I did, women who lost insurance between jobs, whose premiums became unaffordable, or who simply weren’t covered. It’s devastating to know that treatment can come down to money.
That’s why I wanted this event to not only raise awareness, but also take action, so that more women have the chance to receive the care they need.
