GULF FOR GOOD

CHARITY CHALLENGE - RAKAPOSHI BASECAMP 2023

19th to 26th May 2023

CHALLENGE:

Gulf for Good challengers will take part in hiking the Rakaposhi Base Camp Trek (Diran Base camp included) starting and ending in Islamabad. This trek route is located in the region of Minapin Village in the Nagar Valley of Northern Areas Gilgit-Baltistan.

CHARITY PROJECT:

The Citizens Foundation (TCF) is supporting the TCF Primary School – Ghulam Faruque Campus in Nowshera, KPK for the school year 2023 –2024. The schools are rolling out TCF’s research-based early year’s program that helps students build 21st-Century skills through play-based learning. 

Approximately 180 students, 9 female faculty, and over 1,000 community members will benefit from the Foundation's support. Major expenses for school operations include salaries and allowances for the female faculty and support staff, school supplies and monitoring and administrative costs.

FUNDRAISING:

Each participant is tasked with raising a minimum of AED5,000 (USD1,360) to support this project and, together, change the lives of these children and families.

This challenge is held in association with local not-for-profit Gulf for Good, whose purpose is to change the lives of underprivileged children around the world.

The breakdown of how donations are distributed are as follows:

- 75% of funds raised go to the The Citizens Foundation, Pakistan

- 15% of funds raised go to Gulf for Good (not-for-profit in the UAE and registered UK charity) for their sustainability

- 10% of funds raised go to International Humanitarian City for their emergency response work
