ReSeat — Where Reclaimed Materials Meet Renewed Connections

A multifunctional stool designed to foster community interaction and playful engagement.

ReSeat transforms reclaimed materials into a platform for connection. Crafted from reclaimed plywood sourced from discarded furniture and local workshop offcuts, it celebrates the beauty of reuse and the story within imperfection. Each grain and mark is preserved, allowing the material’s past life to enrich its new purpose.

Integrating a built-in chessboard, ReSeat invites spontaneous play and conversation. The removable cushion, made from locally produced cotton fabric and repurposed foam, adds comfort and flexibility— shifting easily between seating, tabletop, and storage functions. Its low, compact design encourages grounded, communal interaction, emphasizing humility, presence, and shared experience. Aligned with the Broken Beautiful theme, ReSeat embodies quiet sustainability—transforming waste into warmth, and function into connection. It demonstrates how thoughtful design can mend the physical and emotional fabric of our shared spaces.
