MADAGASCAR CHALLENGE 2026

Gulf for Good
United Arab Emirates

Story

Challenge Description

In July 2026, a team of Gulf for Good supporters will travel to Nosy Be, Madagascar, for a week-long volunteering challenge in support of vulnerable children and communities.

During the challenge, the team will visit remote communities, and spend time volunteering with the Sunrise Centre, a specialist education and rehabilitation centre supporting children and adults with disabilities.

The challenge will provide participants with the opportunity to witness first-hand the impact of previous Gulf for Good fundraising projects, meet the beneficiaries and local communities they are supporting, and contribute their time and skills to meaningful community initiatives.

The team is fundraising ahead of the challenge to support sustainable projects that will improve education, inclusion, health and wellbeing for children and families in Madagascar.

Charity Project Description

Your donation will support Gulf for Good's ongoing partnership with the Sunrise Centre in Nosy Be, Madagascar.

The Sunrise Centre provides education, rehabilitation, skills training and employment opportunities for children and adults with disabilities. In a country where people living with disabilities often face significant discrimination and limited opportunities, the centre offers a safe and supportive environment where individuals can learn, grow and thrive.

Funds raised through this challenge will contribute towards:

• Improvements to the Sunrise Centre, including new fencing, shaded learning spaces, secure storage facilities, a rear terrace and play equipment, creating a safer and more engaging environment for over 100 beneficiaries.

• The construction of a community toilet block in Lokobe village. The community currently has no dedicated sanitation facilities, and this project will provide safe, hygienic and dignified toilets for local families, improving health and wellbeing for generations to come.

By donating, you are helping create opportunities for children with disabilities, empowering adults through employment, improving essential community infrastructure and building a more inclusive future for communities across Nosy Be.

Every donation, no matter the size, will make a genuine and lasting difference.

Donate today. Help us turn the tide for disability inclusion in Madagascar.
